Her first role as an actor was in 1996's TV movie Her Costly Affair. Following a long and difficult battle, she landed a role in the 'Starship Troopers' series starring in Starship Troopers. Amy had a difficult time making the transition from modeling to acting since models aren't usually thought of as to be actors of any kind. Models are often only given minor and unimportant parts.
